Participant Payment Models
When creating a challenge, you can choose how participation is funded. Challenge Hound offers flexible options so you can run anything from a corporate wellness initiative to a paid fundraiser or a casual challenge with friends.
If you're organizing a company or sponsored challenge, you can cover the participation cost on behalf of your group. In this model, you purchase participant credits in advance, and each time someone joins your challenge, one credit is used. This keeps the experience seamless for participants — they join for free, and you manage the cost centrally.
If you're hosting a fundraiser, nonprofit event, or paid fitness program, you can require participants to pay an entry fee to join. You set the entry amount, and payments are processed securely through your connected payment account. Funds are deposited directly to you, minus standard processing fees. When using this model, you do not need to purchase participant credits.
For smaller groups or casual challenges, participants can simply pay their own way when they join. This is the easiest setup if you don’t want to manage credits or collect entry fees manually — each participant pays individually at the time they join.
No matter which option you choose, you can always adjust your approach for future challenges. The right model depends on whether you're sponsoring participation, raising funds, or just keeping things simple with friends.
